Michael Redington
Mr. Redington is currently a
Transportation Industry Analyst for the U.S Department of
Transportation’s Volpe Center in Cambridge, MA. As Volpe
Center Project Manager for the FTA’s Drug and Alcohol MIS
Project, he manages a staff responsible for the collection,
validation and processing of national drug and alcohol
testing data for the Federal Transit Administrations Drug
and Alcohol Management Information Systems Project. He is
responsible for staffing, budgeting and scheduling and
prioritizing deliverables. He performs software development
and database administration duties, as well as developing
policies, which directly affect over 3500 transit-related
reporters.
Mr. Redington’s accomplishments include the design and
creation of all in-house software used in the collection and
validation of annual Drug and Alcohol MIS (DAMIS) data. He
also provides articles and input for the FTA Drug and
Alcohol Regulation Updates and generates and publishes
an annual report on Drug and Alcohol Testing Results.
For over seven years, he has acted as the
FTA representative while participating as a member of the
Drug and Alcohol Audit Team.
Mr. Redington has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
from Boston College.
