Rod Sams
Mr. Sams is currently a private consultant specializing
in drug and alcohol audit services for public transit
systems.
He served as a team leader for the FTA drug and alcohol
audit program until September 2005, During that time, he led
or participated in over 150 audits, presented 24 technical
assistance training seminars on Part 40, Part 655, and drug
and alcohol program Best Practices, assisted with a rewrite
of the audit questionnaires, presented at audit team members
training seminars, and recommended refinements to the audit
software and audit procedures.
With his in-depth knowledge and field experience, he is
unique in his ability to rapidly identify drug and alcohol
program deficiencies, while at the same time providing
technical assistance, best practices suggestions and process
improvements.
Mr. Sams graduated from the University of Tennessee with
a B.S. in Logistics and Transportation. He has done graduate
work in Public Administration at Pennsylvania State
University.
