Training - Transit Bus
Courses
|
Length: 1 day
Materials Fee: None
Seminar
Overview
This seminar provides a condensed compilation of information taught in several of TSI’s Bus Collision Investigation courses and is targeted for management and administrative personnel who do not regularly respond to on-scene collision investigations, but who may become part of the resolution process. The seminar is also intended for managers who supervise field investigators. It will heighten management awareness of the fact that many elements/systems play a role in contributing to the probable cause of a collision/incident. The seminar highlights how proper investigative techniques and methodologies assist in reducing liability claims and collision frequency, including some hidden and direct costs. This seminar emphasizes the critical need for accurately documenting evidence at the scene to better facilitate reconstruction of collisions should litigation arise. Management will be encouraged to develop proactive policies to reduce and prevent collisions.

Course
Overview
This course involves an extensive and intense calculation of complex speed estimates and mathematical formulas, including time and distance relationships. Participants will employ advanced collision investigation techniques and methodologies to identify and analyze skid marks, enhance photographic documentation, and identify contributing factors to injuries and damage, as they relate to speed in pedestrian, bus, automobile, and motorcycle collisions. The participants will get information needed to recommend and implement safety improvements to prevent and reduce collisions, including property damage, injuries, and litigation.
A packet of materials from the prerequisite Fundamentals course will be mailed to all registered participants 60 days prior to class date for their review.
This course requires knowledge of high school algebra.
